At any one time, one if five Australians will be experiencing a mental condition.

Left untreated, mental condition can result in 6 million working days lost a year across the country. However, research shows that every $1 investment into mental health in the workplace results in a $2.30 return.
Not only does a mentally healthy workplace make financial sense, it also makes legal sense as well.
Bullying, harassment and discrimination can be causes of mental health issues and can also lead to legal problems for companies. This is why Beyond Blue has created Heads Up, a mental health tool kit for employers to help them tackle mental health issues in the work place.
Heads Up explains how to create a mentally safe workplace, what everyone’s rights and responsibilities are and provides training and resources for employees and employers alike. This is a free service which can help improve workers’ mental health, improve productivity in the workplace and avoid adverse legal action due to bullying, harassment and discrimination.
