VIIE Gold Coast will see the unveiling of EFI’s larger flatbed printer that combines impressive speed and image quality in an entry-level printer.

EFI Australia and local distributor iMedia today announced that EFI’s Rastek T1000 UV wide-format printer will be making its Australian debut at VIIE Gold Coast, April 19-21.

The Rastek T1000 from EFI™ offers CMYK plus white printing without any compromise on speed and delivers best-in-class, high definition photographic image quality on a larger flatbed vacuum table platform. It is the perfect choice for traditional signage and specialty markets.

“It has a number of high-quality output options using CMYK plus white with specially formulated inks designed to provide maximum adhesion on rigid and flexible materials,” says Simon Trytell, inkjet SDM for EFI Australia. “The incorporation of white ink means that jobs can be over-printed, under-printed or have spot colour applied without compromising the overall throughput speed.”

The T1000 has a static, three-zoned vacuum table with a sturdy moving gantry that gives excellent stability across its 1.32 x 2.5 m bed, and reduces the need to mask-out areas when printing small items. Able to handle materials up to 181.44 kg in weight, even difficult substrates can be held down consistently to avoid ink scuffing often found on irregular surfaces where there is insufficient vacuum power.

Jason Hay, national sales manager (sign and display hardware) for iMedia, says the range of substrates the T1000 can handle is impressive. ”This is the ideal printer for printshops looking to expand their range of services,”’ says Hay, “because it can print direct to a broad range of substrates, including acrylics, aluminium composites, cards and corrugateds, glass, wood and styrene as well as flexible materials such as paper, self-adhesive PVC and polyester-based films.”

EFI’s Rastek T1000 and the popular Rastek H652 will both be featured on the iMedia stand at the Visual Impact Image Expo from 19-21 April at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
