Melbourne’s Magnify Media continues its phenomenal growth with the recent installation of a second HP Scitex Turbojet 8500, one of four new HP Scitex machines the company has taken receipt of since November last year.

The company’s managing director, John Duplock, said the HP Scitex Turbojet was still, in his opinion, the most impressive technology of its kind available on the market.

“When I first saw the Turbojet four years ago I thought it was one of the most amazing pieces of technology I had ever seen. And that’s still the case. The Turbojet is an out and out amazing unit. It is so self sufficient, it’s not funny. We’re very pleased we now have a second unit as there is no shortage of work for this machine.”

He continued. “HP is aware of where these machines need to be speed-wise and price-wise. The HP inks are competitive and that means we can go up against the screenprint market and deliver a superior product faster and more competitively”.

Duplock said the market is now “well educated” to the benefits of digital screenprinting, the result of a concerted marketing campaign over the past three years by the company to demonstrate to its customers the versatility of this technology.

“Our customers are now only interested in digital print.  We focus on producing any large format point of sale work. That’s what we are after. You can look into other areas like doors, glass and tin, but they are all short run markets and we are chasing the volume work. Success is definitely in volume.”

The installation of the HP Scitex Turbojet 8500 follows closely the commissioning of the company’s second HP Scitex FB7500; Magnify Media is the only company in Asia Pacific to have installed two of these top-end machines to date. In January the company also installed an HP Scitex FB700 and an HP Scitex FB500.

“With that kind of firepower we must be one of the largest digital print companies in Asia Pacific,” concluded Duplock.
