Kayell celebrated its 40th Anniversary in style on Wednesday night the 1st of September, with a gala dinner for well over 100 people in the Grand Pittwater Function Centre, North Ryde, Sydney.

Friends and business partners from all over Australia gathered to hear Kayell’s co-founder, now retired, John Koens relate stories, of the early days in the 1970’s through to the acquisition and subsequent divestment by trading giant Hagemeyer and the hand-over to the current management team of Kayell Australia, Robert Gatto and Andreas Johansson.

Kayell_40th_anniversaryMasterfully MC’d by Photo Marketing Association Director Peter Rose, the event was full of reunions and memories between industry people who had not seen each other for years, and newer acquaintances gained since Kayell Australia’s expansion into the Fine Art and Graphic Arts sectors.

Senior executives from companies such as Epson, Canon, Nikon, GMG, Canson, Adeal, Eizo, Maxwell International and others joined numerous professional photographers, printing industry personnel and media types in a convergence of imaging industry people rarely seen.

Robert Gatto, Kayell Australia's Managing Director said; “To survive and prosper in the professional imaging industry for forty years requires constant attention to change and technology but one thing that remains the same is being a people-focused company. This has always been Kayell’s great strength, learned from its founders and practiced by the current management.
