Canon Australia today announced the next step in its aggressive growth strategy, with Océ joining its Canon Partner Channel (CPC) Program.
As a business partner, Océ will be distributing Canon’s imageRUNNER, imagePRESS and imagePROGRAF products, complementing Océ’s current range.
By appointing Océ, a global leader in digital document management and printing for professionals, Canon now offers print professionals the winning combination of advanced digital colour technology and world-class expertise, service and support.
“By combining the strengths of both organisations, we create one of the industry’s most comprehensive product lines and will drive innovation through expanded research and development capabilities,” said Mr Kenji Kobayashi, Managing Director, Canon Australia.
The announcement follows Canon Inc. becoming the majority shareholder in Océ, acquiring 85 percent of shares in March this year. Since the acquisition both Canon Inc. and Océ have been working to identify opportunities to capitalise on the strengths of both organisations. In Australia Canon and Océ will continue to trade as separate entities.
Commenting on the partnership, Simon Wheeler, Managing Director, Océ Australia said; "This partnership gives Océ world class technology from Canon and as such allows us to support our customers better. We are very excited about the opportunities it presents."
The announcement follows CSG, one of Australia’s leading print and IT services businesses, becoming a CPC Business Partner and demonstrates Canon’s commitment to significantly expanding its coverage in the marketplace increasing the market’s access to its products. This approach is in line with Canon Inc.’s successful global open channel strategy that has seen the company take an enviable leadership position internationally.
