Following a highly successful last edition in 2007, Sydney’s major print and graphic communications exhibition PrintEx returns to Halls 1, 2 & 3 of the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour, from 4-6 May 2011.
Space sales are already underway and organisers are once again predicting a sell-out event.
PrintEx is presented by the Graphic Arts Merchants Association of Australia (GAMAA) and Printing Industries Association of Australia (PIAA) as a complement to the Melbourne-staged PacPrint, which also takes places every four years (next event: 2013).
The two events, whilst attracting similar exhibitors, are very different in execution. PrintEx, launched in 1999, has built its success on its ‘shell-scheme’ only presentation which means lower stand costs for the major suppliers as well as helping smaller exhibitors to showcase on a more equitable level with larger companies.
“The 2007 edition of PrintEx set a real ‘benchmark of excellence’. 98% of exhibitors declared themselves to be either very satisfied or satisfied, and over 80% of trade visitors described PrintEx as a ‘must attend’ event. With these stunning outcomes as a platform, and exhibitor demand for space already high, we expect another very successful event in 2011,” said John Gorton, Group Exhibition Director, Reed Exhibitions Australia.
PrintEx07 was a total sell-out with more than 200 exhibitors, whose stands attracted an impressive 11,087 trade visits over the three days. According to the independent post-show survey conducted by Micromex, 68% of visitors to PrintEx07 held direct purchasing authority or influence and, of these, 80% saw something at the exhibition they were likely to buy.
Based on customer feedback and in keeping with its focus on attracting a high profile trade audience, the 2011 edition of PrintEx will take place from Wednesday – Friday, rather than the traditional Thursday – Saturday format. The event will once again feature the popular PrintEx Forums and will coincide with the 2011 National Print Awards gala dinner.
The PrintEx11 Board is comprised of GAMAA representatives Mitchell Mulligan (Chairman), Ian Martin, Livio Barbagello and Craig Heckenberg, together with representatives from PIAA, Chris Segaert, Peter Carrigan and Susan Heaney.
“The Board of PrintEx11 is working together to present a dynamic event which serves the ever-evolving needs of the graphic arts, print and communications industry. With new technologies and equipment coming so rapidly into the marketplace, PrintEx11 fills a vital role as a major opportunity to showcase products and educate on new initiatives. Furthermore, the PrintEx Board is determined that the 2011 event will drive a positive shift in business and consumer perception of the value of print to society,” said Mitchell Mulligan, Chairman, PrintEx11.
PrintEx11 will take place in Halls 1, 2 & 3, Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour from Wednesday 4 May to Friday 6 May 2011. The exhibition is presented by Graphic Arts Merchants Association of Australia (GAMAA) and the Printing Industries Association of Australia (PIAA) and organised by Reed Exhibitions Australia.
