The NSW branch of the Lithographic Institute of Australia (LIA) is inviting members and guests to a tour of the Penrith Museum of Printing next month, which will include a two-course dinner and a night of harness racing at the adjacent Penrith Paceway.

“Members and guests will be given the opportunity to experience all the Museum has to offer,” said LIA (NSW). 

“Bob Lockley, who is the president of the Museum’ and some other members will give a demo of how it was done in the last century or two, before offset, producing HOT lines of type. They will cast then print your name on an 1864 Press at warp speed.

“Bob will also give an update on the museum and how the future looks for this fascinating piece of history, ‘Preserving the Past for the Future.’

“Following, we will adjourn to the Paceway, which is on site for a dinner with live harness racing in the background, just to add a little atmosphere.”
