“Tradeshows like FESPA and Printing United may have been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but our commitment to the printing industry stands strong,” says Tom Vermeulen, head of Agfa’s Inkjet Sign & Display business unit. “We want to inspire and engage printing companies. In Studio 5D10, our experts will give them an update on our offering, and discuss how it can move their businesses forward in a cost-effective way.”

The FESPA Global Print Expo originally scheduled for October 2020 in Madrid is now due to take place in Amsterdam from 9-12 March 2021.

Studio 5D10 takes its name from what would have been Agfa’s booth number at FESPA this October. The series of broadcasts focuses on market and technology trends in inkjet printing, as well as on the way printing companies can benefit from Agfa’s latest printing innovations for sign & display and industrial print applications – including high-performance large-format printers, workflow automation software and GREENGUARD Gold certified inkjet inks.

The event will host two broadcasts per day across the three days, consisting of a mix of expert talks, user cases, background info and Q&A sessions. Each broadcast will handle a specific topic, ranging from dealing with printing corrugated from flat to finish, over growing and diversifying offset printers’ businesses with large-format inkjet printing, to made-to-measure specialty inkjet solutions – both for sign & display and for industrial applications. Focus points will be the unique power of creative print applications, the importance of perfectly matched print system building blocks, as well as different forms of smart automation options that save printing companies time and money.

All broadcasts will be streamed from Agfa’s headquarters in Belgium, in English. They will last approximately one hour each. Links to the recordings will be made available at the end of each broadcasting day.

Going the extra mile – Syncing inkjet components for a perfect print result

Do you have very specific printing needs? Then Agfa is the right partner to talk to. This session is dedicated to the efforts we take to meet the special requirements of printing companies and other specialized industries. On the one hand, we can rely on our perfect control of all variables of the inkjet process: printer, ink, software and peripheral equipment, e.g. for automation. On the other hand, we also cooperate with great partners to develop specialized printing solutions. In some cases, we build the system solution and make use of third-party components; in other cases, we fit dedicated inks into another system builder’s printing solution. In the latter instances, printing is often part of a larger production process. Examples include laminate floors and furniture panels, wooden pallets, corrugated packaging, and even genuine leather decoration.
