The ACCC will not oppose the acquisition of Direct Paper by Spicers Limited, finding that alternative suppliers of commercial printing paper and direct supply arrangements between printers and paper mills will continue to provide strong competition and constrain paper prices. Spicers supplies the print industry with a range of media for commercial and digital print, label and packaging, sign and display, and architectural and window films.

Xerox began hosting dinners for HP shareholders this week as it seeks support for its $35 billion bid to buy its larger printing market rival.
