Mr. Mulligan said Mr. Strang’s submission to explore how mobile data capture is evolving in a commercial context, would provide the industry with a greater understanding of the impact, and opportunities, these technologies present.
“Steven’s submission is well thought out, and he presented a sound case to the judging panel,” said Mr. Mulligan. “His investigation of the mobile data capture space should provide important insights for the industry in relation to developing new products and services. His forward-thinking approach sits with the objectives of the Grant to provide funds for research that will benefit the industry as a whole.”
Mr. Strang said, “Mobile technology and its uses are growing exponentially. I have chosen the field of mobile capture, as I believe the next five years will see major changes in the way people interact with organisations through this medium. Learning from industry experts will allow me to understand what is being achieved overseas and to understand the future roadmap. This valuable market intelligence will inform organisations in our industry about current trends. More importantly it will allow our industry to strategise how they will take advantage of this new paradigm”.
A former participant in GAMAA’s Leadership Program, Mr. Strang said he was excited by the opportunity the GAMAA Grant afforded. “GAMAA has always led the way, in my opinion, with the development of leaders and the associated skills to be successful in our industry, which is rapidly diversifying in today’s digitally disrupted age. Receiving the GAMAA Grant allows me to give back to my chosen industry and more specifically to GAMAA with whom I have shared a long association”.
