Mouvent is a new joint venture European digital printer manufacturer that has been formed by Bobst and Radex.
Bobst, as most will know is one of the world’s leading suppliers of equipment and services to packaging and label manufacturers, and Radex – a startup company owned by multiple stakeholders with a long track record in the field of DOD inkjet digital printing.
Mouvent currently comprises of 80 employees in Switzerland who will focus on inventing and delivering the future of digital printing.
Already they have announced an 8 colour digital textile printer. The TX801, they say, can produce high print quality on textiles with up to 2,000 DPI optical resolution with unmatched printing speed. The 1.8m-wide eight-colour Mouvent TX801 is a multi-pass textile printer, capable of speeds up to 100m/min on a wide variety of fabrics with a maximum resolution of 1,200dpi.
“The TX801 also has a very competitive price per square meter compared with basic digital printers, but with unrivaled print quality,” said Ghislain Segard, Marketing & Sales Manager, Textile Machines at Mouvent.. “We believe it will change the face of digital textile printing.”
Two more textile printers will be launched shortly, a 3.4m wide machine by the end of the year and the other a single pass machine printer that will be launched during 2018.
Radex began developing the Mouvent Cluster technology in 2013 and it was only last year that discussions took place with Bobst with a view to forming the new subsiduary.
They have also announced two label presses, both of which will be announced at LabelExpo in Brussels in September. They are the LB701-UV and LB702-UV, both single-pass machines, are 1.7m-wide and 3.4m-wide respectively, also printing at 100m/min and offering 1,200dpi resolution on paper, self-adhesive labels and flexible materials.
Mouvent is surely a company to watch in the coming months and years.
