Perth-based Mills Sign & Painting Service, which has provided painting and sign writing services to oil companies throughout Western Australia for almost 60 years, has appointed joint administrators and called a meeting of creditors.

Mills Sign

Founders A.O. Mills and E.P. Hall established Mills Sign & Painting in 1960 to develop a range of services targeting major oil companies throughout Western Australia, “from Wyndham in the north, Esperance in the south and the Eyre Highway east.”

In 1970, Mills Signs moved into its current headquarters, a 2.5 hectare site at Bellevue, where it diversified into protective coatings, fuel tank and pump installations. In 2018, the business was sold to the Mitchell family and the business name was changed to Mills Industrial Services in recognition of the broader suite of services covering the Perth metro area, plus regional and remote Western Australia.

As ASIC notice said Viewtop Holdings, trading as Mills Industrial Services and Mills Sign & Painting, had appointed joint administrators David Hurt & Jimmy Trpcevski from WA Insolvency Solutions, a division of Jirsch Sutherland.

The administrators have called the first meeting of creditors for next week.
