‘Trend barometer’ Heimtextil opens in Frankfurt

Latest digital printing technologies for textiles have been rolled out at Heimtextil 2019, the biggest international trade fair for interior textiles and design that opened in Frankfurt, Germany on Tuesday.

The leading industry event for interior textiles, interior design and interior trends last year attracted almost 3,000 exhibitors and 70,000 trade visitors from across the world. Organisers say the sector’s first major trade fair of the year is “a climate and trend barometer for the new business year.”

HP, Epson, Mimaki and Kornit will all exhibit their newest digital inkjet technologies for wall and floor coverings and decorative fabrics. Xeikon is targeting short-run wall decoration with the launch of its Walldeco Discovery Solution.

Kiian Digital’s new Digistar Bellagio reactive ink, designed for direct printing onto cotton and the other cellulosic fibres, will make its debut at the show.

“We are excited to put forward, in this important textile context, Digistar Bellagio, which is the natural complement of the Kiian Digital's current textile product portfolio,” says Marco Girola, marketing manager of Kiian Digital brand owner JK Group (JKG). “Digistar Bellagio was born from the synergy of highly specialized teams in digital textile printing, MS & JKG, to go beyond the limits of product and process; by developing systems able to raise efficiency and maximize results."

Digistar Bellagio' colours selection includes 8 colours: CYMK, Black and Light Black and 3 spot colours, Orange, Red, and Blue.

Visitors will be able to see the results achievable by using Digistar Bellagio at the booth of JKG partner, MS Printing Solutions (Hall 3.0 – Booth J61).

Italy-based MS Printing said in a press release it would be showcasing both versions of its JP4 textile printing machines:

JP4 model – 3200mm printing width – is printing in combination with Digistar Bravo, JK Group's disperse ink. JP4 is an ink and software open system equipped with Kyocera KJ4B-300dpi printheads. Whilst being the ‘baby’ in MS’s fabric product range for direct textile printing, it offers Industrial Production Speed: 150 sqm/hour @1500 (double CMYK) and 85 sqm/hour @1500 (8 single colours). JP4 is the joining link between paper and textile printing thanks to its possible double configuration: paper & fabric.

JP4 EVO model – 3200mm printing width – is also printing in combination with Digistar Bellagio. JP4 EVO is an ink and software open system equipped with Kyocera KJ4B-600dpi printheads, offering Industrial Production Speed: 220 sqm/hour @1500 (double CMYK) and 160 sqm/hour @1500 (8 single colours). JP4 EVO has been developed for non-elastic fabric offering: high-print quality results as the “sis” JP4 by adding high productivity and reliability crucial in direct textile printing.

This year’s Heimtextil includes the Printed Interior Decoration Lectures, which will examine technologies for using inkjet digital printing to individualise wall and floor coverings and decorative fabrics for contract furnishing.

Heimtextil 2019 runs from January 8-11 in Frankfurt am Main.
