Robyn Stewart won the 2007 Epson South Australian Professional Photographer of the Year Award for the fifth time with images from her travels in China and India. At the time of this announcement Robyn had just begun a working trip to Tanzania on the edge of the African continent to collect images for her second book.

Robyn has been a professional photographer for 10 years. Specialising in wildlife and landscape photography, she spends three to four months each year in Tanzania finding inspiration in the southern parks and the north, close to Arusha on the Serengeti Plains.

Together with the major award, Robyn won Editorial Photographer of the Year for the first time and Landscape Photographer of the Year for the eighth time. Three of the landscape images she used were shot in China recently while visiting for her solo exhibition at the opening of a gallery in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu Province.

"I went over for the opening and was then taken on a 16-day trip into Qinghai and Sichuan provinces, which is where I shot most of the award-winning images. In China I also had the opportunity to spend time with and photograph Tibetan nomads and people in rural villages, which I enjoyed immensely." said Robyn.

Up to now Robyn has printed all her work on an Epson Stylus Pro 4000, so she is excited to start printing on her new Epson Stylus Pro 7880 when she returns from her travels in Tanzania.

"Epson's sponsorship of the South Australian AIPP Awards is just one of the ways it is able to demonstrate its support and dedication to excellence in photographic and fine art print making, in addition to delivering market leading products such as the UltraChrome K3 Ink with Vivid Magenta featured on our Stylus Pro 880 series," Epson's Business Solutions Manager, Craig Heckenberg said.

Epson has announced that it will continue to sponsor each State (WA, SA QLD, ACT, NSW, VIC and TAS) for the Epson Professional Photographer of the Year Awards for another three years, continuing its support of photography excellence in Australia.
