There’s excitement afoot at digital fine art and photo media solutions specialist, DES Pty.Ltd. as it readies the launch at this year’s Digital Show in Melbourne of Xrite’s new i1Pro2 professional colour management solutions, described as the next generation of Spectro.

DES Business Unit Manager for XRite and Pantone, Mark Wilton considers the development to provide an entirely new level of value for the most demanding colour perfectionists.

“They know that calibrated and profiled devices and systems are a critical part of a successful, efficient, creative workflow. What you capture on your i1PhotoPro2camera, see on your monitor, view on your proofs, prints and presses or share online has to match or you and your customers will never be happy with the result, no matter how much time you devote to perfecting it”, Wilton maintains.

As a result, the colour measurement bar will be raised higher than ever before on the DES stand with Wilton and his team presenting a range of versatile and accurate colour measurement, calibration and profiling solutions. The aim is to demonstrate to visitors ways to maximise profitability, efficiency and accuracy, running down the entire gamut of requirements from only a solution to color manage displays  to a comprehensive solution for an entire workflow.

In addition, products being rolled out by DES at the Digital Show will include i1Display Pro, ColorMunki Photo and Color Checker Passport.

The i1Display Pro is the upgrade of the Eye One Display Version 2, described as  the ultimate solution for creatives who demand speed, options and flexibility to attain colour accuracy. It incorporates new technologically advanced filter and optical systems, fast measurement speed, and unrivaled colour accuracy on all modern display technologies, including LED & wide gamut LCDs. Spectrally calibrated, it becomes field upgradeable to support future display technologies.

The ColorMunki Photo device is a small spectrophotometer which measures light intensity. According to X-Rite, a spectrophotometer is a photometric device for the measurement of spectral reflectance, transmittance or emission (monitors)   ColorChecker Passport is a powerful ‘capture to edit colour solution providing photographers with more accurate, consistent colour and creative flexibility. When combined with Adobe® Imaging solutions, ColorChecker Passport combines three photographic targets into one
