Further to our story on Océ's big news at drupa re their Velocity product - see http://www.wideformatonline.com/index.php/news/wide-format-news/4504-drupa-news-–-océ-partners-with-memjet, the company was also exhibiting the new Océ ColorWave 650 Poster Printer.

The Océ ColorWave 650 Poster Printer is a specialised version of the ColorWave 650. Aimed at the point-of-sale market it can print on a variety of paper sizes and at speeds of 155 A1 sheets per hour. The prints are instantly dry, water resistant, cut to size and ready to be mounted.

Velocity, as we have stated was the star attraction of the Océ exhibit, the printer combines high-speed Memjet Inkjet technology with Océ workflow to print up to 500 A0 colour prints per hour – that's the equivalent height of the Eiffel tower in half an hour. Incorporating the same 6 media roll capacity of the Océ ColorWave 600/650, Velocity combines five Memjet inkjet printheads, to operate simultaneously, applying more than 3 billion drops of ink per second. Coupled with a width path of 106cm, the machine will deliver a new level of large format print productivity to the CAD, GIS and GA markets.
