Adobe has announced it is dropping the controversial direct link to FedEx Kinko stores in the public version of the free Acrobat Reader. FedEx Kinko will still have its' own version to distribute to customers.

"The decision to remove the link in the free public Reader is a good corporate decision and testament to the collective resolve of the industry" said Garry Knespal, Executive Officer of the local GASAA. "Adobe having noted the unintended effects of the preferential link, is now to be acknowledged for agreeing to remove the link. The resulting decision to set-up a Print Advisory Council to review future third party arrangements is also timely. Adobe in Australia has expressed interest to GASAA to see a similar initiative in the region." continued Mr Knespal.
