Ibratexpo Feiras e Eventos LTDA. is based in Sao Paulo and includes Serigrafia, the largest sign, screen and digital imaging show in South America.
The acquisition of Serigrafia along with its sister shows Sign and FutureTEXTIL, as well as the related magazine titles Sign and Silk Screen, provides Informa with a strong presence in the growing wide format, sign, textile and promotional marketing sectors. It also underlines Informa Exhibitions focus to extend further the worldwide reach of the IPEX brand and to capture the potential of emerging markets.
Trevor Crawford, Director of the print group at Informa Exhibitions, commented “This is a very exciting development for us. The printing industries of Brazil and Latin America have witnessed double digit growth for the past few years, and with strong growth expected to continue, this latest investment offers many opportunities - not just in terms of the market sectors covered, but also in terms of geographical reach. There is huge growth potential amongst the wide format, signage, digital imaging and textile market sectors, and Serigrafia and its sister shows provide the perfect platform on which to further build our print portfolio to serve the global print community in emerging markets. Our intention is to bring the considerable wealth of knowledge and intellectual property of IPEX to build on the success of Serigrafia to ensure the long term development of the show, enabling us to provide exhibitors and visitors with the best possible event experience.”
Serigrafia has established itself over its 20 year history as the main event serving the printing industries of Brazil and Latin America and has built an excellent reputation amongst the key trade associations and exhibitors. The show has continued to attract a growing and loyal visitor base with over 45,000 visitors attending the exhibition in 2010, which comprised 400 exhibitor stands and 32,000m² of floor space
Under the new ownership and direction of Informa Exhibitions Brasil LTDA, Serigrafia 2011 will take place from 20th to 23rd July at the Expo Center Norte Exhibition Centre in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Eric Alatzatianou Rodrigues, Publishing and Marketing Director at Ibratexpo adds, “We’re delighted the show now has the international backing, resources and long term investment commitment of the Informa Group. With their considerable expertise in delivering top class events and exhibitions around the globe, this can only be good news for the future of Serigrafia, for both exhibitors and visitors alike.”
