Looking back at 2010's Award Winners
Wide Format Winner- Building Art - Look Print, NSW

The judges awarded the winning status for the Wide Format category to Look Print’s Building Art entry commenting that, in the true spirit of innovation, it will open up new markets for print. The very large format production, with its durable and reliable design elements is most impressive, not just for the industry, but also for architects and builders alike. The judges unanimously agreed that “Look Print has created a unique and innovative product that creates new opportunities for the industry”.
Offset/Web Winner- Fluoro7 Ltd, Fluoro Publications, VIC
In winning the Offset/Web Category, Fluoro Publications’ outstanding entry made interesting use of technically difficult print technologies, including cold foiling, embossing and four-colour printing to name a few. The judges also remarked that “Fluoro Publications should be applauded for commendable resourcefulness within the limited budget of an independent publication".
Digital (Non-Variable) Winner- It’s Weird in Here - Print Portal, NSW
Winner of Digital (non-variable) category, Print Portal, dazzled the judges with the interesting selection of stocks and overall job presentation that showcased Print Portals’ extended capabilities. The entry, titled “It’s Weird in Here”, impresses upon buyers of print the new and clever applications of the digital print medium. “It’s Weird in Here is an innovative and unique concept that takes advantage of the print firms’ large size digital capabilities” commented the Printovation Awards judges.
General Winner- PULP Business Cards - Watermarx Graphics, NSW
Watermarx Graphics are recognised for the innovative processes used in creating the PULP Business Cards. Through use of polymer plates Watermarx Graphics can produce old school techniques in an economical way, potentially making these techniques popular again. The judges noted with excitement that “the entries have brought back a desired art form of printing with modern day commercial application and appeal".
General Winner- Digital Printing onto Metalised Polyester - Royle Industries, VIC
With the RoyleBind system, Royle Industries have developed a mechanism to provide an alternative binding method in an economical way. By innovating in the finishing process the RoyleBind technology assists in promoting print as an innovative and viable communication medium. “With the RoyleBind System, Royle Industries have invented a whole new approach to the challenge of providing a customised binder/presentation-folder solution, for high-value presentations and proposals”, the judges commented.
