Things happen fast in the world of retail, but Océ’s found a way to make them happen even faster.

The newly-released Océ ColorWave 600 Poster Printer is designed as the retailer’s best friend, allowing wide format print shops to help customers design and mount the visual requirements for retail campaigns, seasonal sales and snap product clearances in a fraction of the traditional timeframes.

The new Océ ColorWave 600 Poster Printer is ideal for the fast production of colour posters, banners, point-of-sale (POS) applications and even short run flyers and brochures.

ColorWave600_PosterPrinterProduct Manager for the Océ ColorWave 600 Poster Printer, Steven Badger, says “the high quality of the colour reproduction, coupled with its exceptional productivity, quickly gained an enthusiastic following. Océ recognised there was a strong market for a fast colour machine able to print on a wide variety of substrates including plain paper.

“The new Poster Printer builds on the existing Océ CrystalPoint technology to enable the production of up to 1700 A1 posters in a single eight-hour shift. You can even print and deliver an entire point-of-purchase campaign – including banners, posters and flyers – in a single business day. The printer can be supplied with two, four or six rolls and has a maximum print speed of 106 metres per hour. Plain paper, outdoor paper, blue-black paper, film, Tyvek® and recycled paper can be used.

“For the operator, shifting the production of point-of-sale materials to the Océ ColorWave 600 Poster Printer significantly reduces labour and media costs. Operators can be freed up for other tasks since the system can run unattended at full production speed with no manual trimming needed.

“The Poster Printer automatically cuts jobs on completion with no drying time required. An optional take-up allows users to operate the system as roll-to-roll - useful where lamination or further finishing might be required,” says Badger.

Its environmental qualifications stack up strongly. The Océ ColorWave 600 Poster Printer uses Océ TonerPearls solid toner and Océ CrystalPoint imaging technology to obtain the best print results. Users get consistent, high quality prints on economical plain and recycled paper, eliminating the need to use chemical coated media to obtain good print quality.

With the marble-like Océ TonerPearls solid toner, there are no emissions and ink cartridges are fully emptied, so there is no costly waste. The printer can be placed anywhere, even in an office environment, because it produces no fine dust, odour or emissions during printing. Waste, including unused prints etc. can be discarded along with normal print shop trash.

Steven Badger says the Océ ColorWave 600 Poster Printer has been adapted to take full advantage of the widely-used Onyx RIP for even better results.

“The release of the Océ ColorWave 600 Poster Printer provides users with a great marketing tool for attracting new customers.

“It allows you to approach retail or other commercial establishments that have a requirement for posters or any POS materials and offer them a new product, which the competition will find difficult to match for speed, quality or price. It used to be said in the printing industry that you can only have two of the three. The Océ ColorWave 600 Poster Printer makes it possible to offer all three at the same time.”

Print houses that would like to know more can access a new microsite www.instantposterpower.com/au that shows the full capabilities of the new printer and enables users to upload artwork to be printed.

The new Océ ColorWave 600 Poster Printer will be exhibited for the first time at the Visual Impact Image Expo, being held in conjunction with Printex in Sydney in May.
