Barbieri Electronic, specialist colour measurement and management manufacturer based in Italy, has appointed Kayell Australia as its exclusive distributor for the Australia - New Zealand region.

With applications for the Graphic Arts, Packaging, Sign & Display,Textile Photographic and Motion Picture industries, Barbieri has earned a fine reputation for quality colour measurement and calibration devices, especially for making profiles for seemingly impossible materials such as tinfoil, backlight and glass.

Offering both Spectrophotometers and software tools for ICC profile creation, Barbieri products also support most of the Rips used in the digital imaging industry. The company has a close strategic partnership in the UV wide-format sector, with GMG Color – another of Kayell Australia’s colour management product lines with a dominant position in the creative and offset printing sectors.

“We are delighted that Barbieri has chosen Kayell Australia as its distributor for the ANZ area,” says Kayell’s Managing Director Robert Gatto. “With digital imaging’s capability to print onto virtually any material, the need for accurate colour management is greater than ever. Only the Barbierei Spectro LFP has proven itself in the profiling of tricky substrates such as wood, glass, stone, metals, ceramics and textiles which are used increasingly on flatbed and roll-to-roll UV-curing wide format machines.”

With strong credentials in both the Graphic Arts and Photographic fields, Barbieri’s range includes the Spectro LFP - now in its third generation; the automatic chart reading Spectro Swing, Profile- XPert ICC profiling software plus speciality spectrophotometers for the textile and cine industries.

“What sets Barbieri Electronic LFP spectrophotometers apart is the ability to change the apertures to suit the substrate being measured, the multi-angle lighting which helps eliminate diffraction and the Polarising filter option for shiny surfaces and UV inks. The Spectro Swing model will measure any colour chart automatically and is ideal for linearising multiple wide-format printers, “says Gatto, adding:

“Digital imaging dictates a lot of cross-over between Graphic Arts and Photographic imaging. For example, we supply the same Epson wide-format printers to both sides, but all require accurate colour management for their specific purposes. Together with our colour experts, the addition of Barbieri enables Kayell to provide the most critical colour management available anywhere in Australia.”
