Starleaton Digital Solutions has uploaded its entire range of wide-format digital printing products to its new website, enabling fast online ordering of supplies for signage, display, photographic, fine art and protective media, inks and equipment.
Account customers will be invited to log into ‘The Promiseland’ – a landing page that seeks to replicate the same face-to-face service that Starleaton is renowned for. “We Promise” has become Starleaton’s catchphrase reflecting the company’s commitment to deliveries, service, product quality and the environment.
“With over 2,500 SKUs, it was a mammoth task,” says General Manager Ben Eaton, “As any signage and display printer knows, the variety of widths, lengths, thicknesses and surfaces for media is enormous but every one has its specific application, so our team had to make sure it was all 100% accurate.”
He continues; “We started planning a website make-over six months ago, with the main emphasis on making it easier for our customers to order the right product quickly, at any time. Not only this, but the system had to work together with our accounting programme so that any special pricing a customer may be on is automatically entered.”
Starleaton began trials of the new online system with a select few customers late last year and any bugs and glitches that were identified were ironed out. The old website was finally taken down just before Christmas, and final tweaks were made during January.
“Starleaton’s Promiseland is now live and online, with the same URL as before and it is working like a charm,” says a relieved Eaton, “There is also a free application guide and an FAQ forum we’ve named ‘Ask Gazza’ because our fellow Director Gary Smith, aka Gazza, will deploy his 30 years of industry experience to answer any question relating to wide-format digital printing.”
For those preferring to stick with more traditional ways or ordering, there is no change. “In fact,” says Eaton, “we are planning to increase our sales and support force this year, and our 1300 number is always there for phone enquiries – answered by a real person. The new website is an extension of our business and customer service, not a replacement for it. It will continue to evolve and grow.”
