Workplace safety is the focus of Printing Industries first NSW training course for 2011 which is on First Aid.
Registrations are now open for the Apply First Aid course to be held at Printing Industries’ Auburn office on Tuesday 15 February 2011.
Printing Industries National Manager, Learning and Development, Ian Walz, said the timing was chosen to coincide with the return to full staffing of businesses after the holiday period and any New Year engagement of employees.
“Most businesses are back to full staff capacity and so it’s important to take the opportunity at this time of year to get the relevant staff trained up before key busy periods,” he said.
“We are repeating the intense single-day course piloted in October last year as opposed to a two-day format. The single day proved very successful and minimised time away from the workplace.”
Mr Walz said the course covers a wide range of topics including cardio pulmonary Resuscitation, fractures and dislocations, burns and scalds, head, chest and spinal injuries, fainting and unconsciousness, bandaging techniques, severed limbs, poisoning, bites, stings and much more.
“Our presenter is experienced with the printing industry, so the content and situation discussions are geared around the circumstances you would find in a printing company.
“The course is nationally accredited and on successful completion of the training, participants receive an attendance sheet outlining the course outcomes achieved,” he said.
All participants also receive a 255 page First Aid manual.
