HP have announced a new strategic sales and service agreement with CPI Graphics, the exclusive Australian channel partner for the Industrial range of HP Scitex Printers.
This new arrangement will see HP take direct responsibility for the service and support functions for the Industrial range enabling CPI to focus solely on providing best-in-class sales and marketing solutions to its customer base as of 1st November 2010.
There will be no alteration to CPI’s provision of service and support for HP’s commercial range of HP Scitex and HP Designjet printers and the company will continue to provide inks and media across HP Industrial and Commercial ranges.
“CPI Graphics is HP’s exclusive partner in the industrial space and has forged a strong reputation for reliability and quality service in the market. CPI is a respected strategic partner of HP and we will continue to work with the company to deliver market-leading solutions for the display and signage sectors,” said Shane Lucas, Director HP Graphic Arts South Pacific.
The mutual decision to split the sales and service functions was influenced by market conditions and the rapid evolution of technology said David Booth, General Manager CPI Graphics. “Our customers’ demanding business environments, along with the ever-changing models and complexity of the HP Industrial Large Format Printer range, means that only a company with the resources and access to training and technology that HP has, can provide the level of service and support that customers in this space demand”.
Lucas said HP would increase its engineering coverage and spare parts logistics and supply to ensure customers a smooth transition. The new arrangements will have little impact on CPI customers. Those with maintenance agreements will continue to contact the HP Call Centre directly while those who previously logged service calls with CPI will now be directed to HP.
Booth believes this new arrangement will “allow CPI Graphics to focus where it can provide maximum value to customers in the provision of printers, inks, media and RIP Software as well as services and support for the HP Commercial range of printers”.
