Sign Xtreme in Miami on the Gold Coast have operated an HP L25500 Latex Ink printer for about five months and have just installed their second machine.
The second machine was installed since they recently had to complete a 1000sqm self adhesive print job with a short turn around without disrupting their already busy schedule.
Greg Nettle, the proprietor, explained that all the prints needed to be printed on the same printer for consistency and in the past given the short turn around he would have had to sub the job out to another company. In this case it would have cost him at least $30psm rather than his production cost on his HP L25500 printer of less than $10psm.
Greg consulted with his manager Ryan and it was decided that because the HP L25500 latex printer can print unattended and send an email when the roll needs to be changed, that the job would be done overnight and on the weekend.
It ws logical that Greg would opt for the 1000sqm unattended without a problem and an extra $20,000 in profit and a better print result for the client.
Ryan, pictured above with the HPL25500 printer, also praised the fact that their day to day operations have improved out of sight with instant dry and laminate or lay up of prints from the latex ink printer.
There have been large savings in operating costs compared to their previous solvent printer. Also the printer takes up less than half the space of their previous 1500 mm wide printer.
