EFI Australia has announced that the combined PrintWorks/VIIE show had proved an ideal opportunity to showcase its Rastek range of wide-format printers.
Distributors DES and iMedia both featured Rastek printers on their stands. They drew plenty of interest from printers looking to break into new fields and expand their range of products and services, and as the show drew to a

close one sale had been finalised with several more in the pipeline.
The very first Rastek H650 to arrive in Australia featured on the DES stand. ‘We took it out of the box, plugged it in, and off it went,’ said Brenden Dunn, wide-format business development manager with DES. ‘That’s the beauty of the Rastek machines, the technology is such that operators can quickly get up to speed without the need for lengthy training and with its small footprint it suits most printshops.’
On the iMedia stand, the Rastek H700 was constantly busy producing impressive samples on a variety of substrates. Canadian Tyler Marshall, iMedia’s wide-format sales specialist was more than pleased to be putting the H700 through its paces. ‘I’m very familiar with the Rastek range because at Paperlinx (iMedia’s parent company in North America) we sold many Rastek machines,’ commented Marshall. ‘In their class, I don’t think you can beat the Rasteks on their white ink capability – it’s a lot of printer for the price.’
‘Value-for-money package’ is how Simon Trytell, EFI Australia’s inkjet SDM, sums up the Rastek range. ‘The purchase price includes the machine, ink starter kit, and the powerful EFI Fiery XF RIP hardware and software,’ says Trytell, ‘which makes for an extremely attractive package.’
Ramin Kazemi, EFI’s Singapore-based Asia Pacific MD, who travelled to Sydney especially for the show said that he was exceptionally pleased with the level of interest generated by the Rastek printers and with a further two models to be added to the range before the end of the year he predicted a stellar year for EFI Rastek in 2011.
