Halifax Vogel Group (HVG) has today announced a generational change in leadership with the appointment of Bruce Rayment as Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Rayment will take over the reins from Charles Friedler on 1 July, leading the total HVG industrial products distribution business including Alucobond Architectural, HVG Graphics, HVG Decorative Building Products, HVG Industrial Fabrics, SmartStone, HVG Packaging and Octanorm Australia.
This new role encompasses his existing role as CEO of HVG divisions, Alucobond Architectural and Octanorm Australia.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead such a great business during a period of significant growth and investment,” said Mr Rayment.
“We have exciting times ahead, with the opening of our new office and warehouse complexes in Melbourne and Perth in early 2011, and I look forward to working with all of our staff and customers as we grow further in the years ahead and improve as a business. I have been with HVG now for 3 years since the acquisition of Alucobond Architectural and Octanorm Australia and over that time have developed a thorough knowledge and understanding of the whole organisation.”
With warehouses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Auckland and Bangkok, HVG distributes a diverse range of products across multiple sectors, including high pressure laminates, decorative and architectural panel products, engineered stone, industrial and marine fabrics, graphics, digital media and display materials.
Mr Rayment brings a wealth of leadership and management experience to the company, having joined Alucobond Architectural as General Manager in 2001 and served as CEO since 2006. Prior to that he was Marketing Director for ASX listed software developer Infomedia Ltd and also spent 12 years in various sales and marketing roles with Castrol Australia.
Ron Ferster, Chief Executive Officer of HVG’s parent company, Sanwa Holdings Pty Ltd, said Mr Rayment was a natural choice to take over as CEO of HVG.
“Bruce has worked tirelessly in his roles with Alucobond Architectural and Octanorm Australia for a numbers of years and I have no doubt he will bring the same enthusiasm, energy and leadership to his new position,” said Mr Ferster.
Mr Ferster added that Mr Friedler would remain at HVG, taking on the role of Chairman of Distribution to manage the company’s packaging division on a national basis, coordinate the warehouse relocations in Melbourne and Perth, and assist with investment, product development and acquisitions.
“Charles will continue to provide HVG with his experience, knowledge and passion which have been and will continue to be invaluable to our business,” he said.
