The Gerber CAT UV is the newest member of the Solara ion UV printer line.
It features Gerber’s patent-pending Cold Fire Cure technology to apply Gerber CAT inks (CMYK) that provide high-adhesion and scratch-resistant printing on various substrates. Arrow says it produces no ozone or VOCs.
The economically-priced and environmentally friendly printer will image on heat sensitive materials. Further, it features sharp accuracy and an elevated color gamut; its registration system supports double strike and two-sided printing.
The Gerber CAT UV images at 635 x 720 and 1058 x 720-dpi; the maximum print width is 1620 x 3050mm for rigid media and 160mm for flexible media; and it will print on media that measures up to 25.4mm thick.
When set at its bi-directional, production mode, the CAT UV will print a full-table, 1.5 X 3 metre board in 18 minutes.
To ease installation, Gerber engineers designed the CAT UV to fit through standard 92cm doors, and it does not need compressed air or special air extraction systems.
