As the World Cup gets underway, Screen has teamed up with Printvlak in the Netherlands to produce an exhibition of stunning photographs by top photographer Robin Utrecht for the Stars in their Eyes initiative, which uses football to bring about social change in South Africa.

Printvlak produced the 80 x 120 cm prints directly on to 4mm rigid plastic sheets on its Truepress Jet2500UV flatbed digital printing system. Screen donated the inks and the transparent Vivak material was supplied by Vink SCREEN_worldcup_starsintheireyesposterKunststoffen. The prints were unveiled at a ceremony at the South African embassy in The Hague, then for the duration of the World Cup, they will be on display at Schipol airport in the Netherlands.

Akira Hayakawa, Managing Director of Dainippon Screen (Australia) comments; “Screen is delighted to support such a worthy cause to help achieve social change using the vehicle of sport in South Africa. Some of the world’s top photographers are realising the image quality, colour rendition and outdoor durability of prints made on the Truepress Jet 2500UV – especially for backlit displays – remains faithful to their original creation. We are as excited as everyone else about the World Cup and are grateful for this opportunity to play a small part in its broader success.”
