Junkers & Müllers are known for the fireproof media and at the FESPA show in Munich Junkers & Müllers are presenting a fireworks display of new developments.

Focal points among them are new textiles for digital art- and photo reproduction. The renowned photographer Tomas Loewy is delighted to be able to superbly stage his work in this fashion.

Burning_Man_klBlazing flames dominate the oversize reproduction of a Loewy picture beaming above the Junkers & Müllers exhibition stand in Munich.

The “Burning Man” is a theme which has fascinated and inspired Tomas Loewy for many years. Every year this spectacular event brings together tens of thousands of enthusiasts in the desert of Nevada, erecting gigantic timber constructions in the landscape with a display of fantasy and courage, only to burn them down at the zenith of the festival.

Five works to this topic from this series are on display at the FESPA, which are presented on different textile surfaces. These materials provide new perspectives for the artist to realise his creative intensions. Be it reproductions of extreme sizes or the brilliant array of colours in the back-lit constructions as well as the extremely detailed reproduction of the most delicate imaging patterns – all reasons which have convinced Tomas Loewy of the textiles by Junkers & Müllers.

There is for example the new product “JM-Mediatex Matt Artist”; its special coating was developed for printing with water-based pigment inks. Close collaboration with the graphic industry created a textile substrate, which reacts to the latest developments in digital reproduction technology.

The extremely high print speed of the new HP Printer Series 6100 Z places high demands on the drying capacity of the inks on the substrate. “Mediatex® Matt Artist” offers the appropriate preconditions especially for this purpose. Features of this product include the intensive pigment absorption and fast drying on the surface of the product due to the micro-porous coating. The high stability of the print surface also under heavy mechanical stress, such as for example at folding edges during the stretching into frames, is a further advantage over common prints with water-based pigment inks. The feared stress whitening is guaranteed eliminated.

Junkers & Müllers will also introduce at the FESPA products for sublimation printing, special textiles for latex print and - for the first time - textile substrates which are flame retarded, certified according to B1 including solvent-based as well as UV-curing inks. As all products of the house of Junkers & Müllers also these new developments carry the Ökotex-Seal.
