Specialist printer OPUS Print Group, owner of Cactus Imaging is extending its regional print solutions strategy by joining forces with Singapore's COS Printers, its current strategic alliance partner in Asia.

As one of Singapore’s premier educational and technical printers, COS will complement OPUS Print Group’s existing operations in Australia and New Zealand, where the Group has established itself as the leading provider ofshort run, time sensitive print solutions.

Founded in 2007, OPUS Print Group currently has annualised revenues in excess of $100 million and operations in Auckland, Sydney and Canberra. Chief Executive Cliff Brigstocke says the print industry is evolving quickly and OPUS Print Group is at the forefront of this change.

“COS is an excellent fit for OPUS Print Group, and we have established a very close relationship over the past 9 months, which was reinforced by the signing of a strategic alliance late in 2009.”

With a similar range of publishing customers, COS will further the ability of the Group to work with global publishers to provide an innovative regional print solution. The joining of forces will create the opportunity to leverage technical expertise and client relationships into the Asian markets, Britain, Europe and the United States of America.

COS will also allow OPUS Print Group to offer competitive longer run, less time sensitive printing solutions for Australasian customers who want a single regional print provider.

Founded by Mr Alfred Angin 1972, COS employs 80 staff and exports more than half its production to customers in Europe, Britain and the United States.

Mr Ang is currently the president of the Print and Media Association of Singapore (PMAS) and will be appointed to the OPUS Print Group board. Warmly welcoming the appointment, Mr Brigstocke says Mr Ang’svast knowledge and experience in the Asian printing industry will greatly assist the board and further strategy development. Mr Angand the Angfamily will continue to be very much involved in the management of COS, and will also become shareholders in OPUS Print Group following the acquisition.

“For COS this is an exciting opportunity to join a group with an already established leadership position in the industry and a clear vision for creating further value for all stakeholders from a commitment to excellence,” Mr Ang says.
