Rocket Signs has won the Gold Medal at the 2010 New Zealand Sign & Display Awards in the Glasswork Category.
Their entry "Deloitte’s Decorative Window Films” was printed on the company’s HP Designjet L65500 with HP Latex Inks Technology.
Rocket Sign’s Managing Director Ross Hall said the company was extremely pleased with the accolade. “It is fantastic that this brand new machine can win a gold medal straight away”.
The job involved covering four floors of glass windows on the Deloitte’s building with optically clear film. “We were astounded, and thrilled, by the vibrancy of colours we achieved on the clear substrate,” said Hall. “The colour saturation was fantastic and exceeded both our, and the client’s, expectations. We didn’t think we’d get the intensity of colour given we were printing on to clear material, but the outcome proved to me the HP latex inks are truly performing and achieving better results than we were able to with solvent inks”.
The company replaced all its solvent printers with the new HP Designjet L65500 printer with HP latex inks at the end of last year and has recently installed an HP Designjet L25500 with HP latex inks as a complementary addition to the larger machine.
Rocket Signs produced the award-winning job from creative concepts through to installation. In total the job involved 400 metres of printed material.
“It is fantastic for the company as a whole to be recognised and awarded for this job as everyone had a stake in it. It was a real team effort and reinforced for us that all the cogs are connected. We are very proud of our achievement,” concluded Hall.
