"In the last four years Canon has demonstrated its commitment to the LFP market by introducing more than 20 imagePROGAF large format printers with each new model raising the bar for outstanding image quality and overall versatility,” said Troy Neighbour, Product Manager-LFP, Canon Australia.
Ideal for graphic applications and colour proofing, the new line up produces rich expression and achieves a level of performance essential for professional users. Offering an enhanced colour spectrum the new system covers an area on the colour gamut approximately 20 percent larger than previous models, enabling over 90 percent coverage of PANTONE® colours.
“The latest models deliver the broadest colour gamut on the market and produce high-quality consistent prints, helping professional print users meet the demands of their customers without the need to invest in new workflows," added Neighbour.
The new inks are also designed with an innovative polymer structure that results in greater scratch resistance and protection from colour fading, while also reducing bronzing and metamerism ensuring durable, stable output.
Canon has also developed a new Media Configuration Tool to improve the versatility of the new imagePROGRAF models. The tool allows the adjustment, registration and distribution of various parameters of third-party media and makes possible safe and effortless printing and proofing when using non-Canon brand media, allowing users to maintain their preferred workflows and settings.
To support high-volume printing and streamline workflows the iPF8300 and the iPF6350 come with an 80 GB capacity hard disk drive that allows for faster spooling of large files as well as the ability to reprint jobs directly from the printer.
The new imagePROGRAF models will be available in Australia from April 23, 2010.
