Arrow Systems will highlight the new Gerber Ion Z wide-format UV flatbed printer and M3000 Cutting System at the Visual Impact Image Expo, Gold Coast 2010, Booth C6.
The Solara IonZ is the newest high-resolution model of Gerber's wide-format UV flatbed printer. The Ion Z features a new, high-resolution 14 picolitre droplet and Gerber's innovative MLID (multi layering ink deposition) system.
With more than 300 units installed worldwide, the Ion utilizes Gerber's breakthrough GerberCAT cationic UV ink technology for unmatched ink flexibility and adhesion. These inks deliver superb adhesion and full gamut colour, without using adhesion promotors, on a wide range of substrates including Corflute.
In addition to the tremendous value the Ion range brings for its owners in terms of growing sales at better margins, the environmental benefits of these products can not be overstated. GerberCAT ink works well on heat-sensitive and paper-based products like biodegradable and recycled sign board, a unique green feature. The Ion's Cold Fire Cure system cures using UV lamps that create no ozone and with less energy during printing than other high temperature UV curable systems. This lower cure temperature allows the Ion to print on a wide array of paper-based materials, adding to the opportunities to eliminate waste through direct-to-rigid printing. In addition, the Gerber Ion releases no volatile organic compounds (VOC's) into the air.
Arrow will also show the M Series family of digital cutters. The M Series cutting systems cut, crease and rout graphics materials using an integral auto-registration system. Working together with the Ion and other leading flat bed printers to offer a seamless print-to-cut solution for POP or other dimensional signage, the M Series can be purchased as a complete turnkey system for one reasonable price that includes everything needed to begin production.
Visitors to Gerber's booth will also see demonstrations of new ways the Ion and M3000 can be used to increase sales and improve margins.
