Following on from the success of Wide Format Online magazine, it was logical that the same publishing formula should be used.
"It took Wide Format Online magazine just over 12 months to become the region's favourite wide format industry publication with a readership of nearly 34000 in September last year", said Brian Stickland, publisher of Wide Format Online and now, the new Sign & Display Online magazine.
Wide Format Online magazine is currently read by an average 20000 wide format printers each month making it, by far, our industry's favourite magazine for this sector.
"The benefits of on-line publishing are too huge to ignore for the average reader and advertiser," said Stickland. Apple's new iPad and the expected impact it will have on the book and newspaper publishing industry is a classic example of how Apple are also recognising and promoting the move to online publishing.
Sign & Display Online (www.signanddisplayonline.com) contains many of the common features that Wide Format Online contains such as Directories, Management Workshops, Classified ads. The news columns are obviously very different and whilst we have duplicated some of the Special Features, these will diverge in future as new content is added.
The two weekly newsletters will now change to accomodate both publications. "I really thought that we would have to develop a third newsletter", said Stickland. "However, we were conscious of the already heavy load of newsletters that industry recipients receive, so we will try to avoid producing a third, especially in the short term.
Our newsletter distribution database has been expanded to well over 9000 now to cater for the additions and this will surely grow as Sign & Display Online becomes the industry standard in the region.
We are recruiting more contributing editors to generate feature stories from across the region for both publications.
"Publishing news for the dynamic sign industry has to be done on a 24/7 basis as news develops each day, if not hourly, especially in the hi-tech world of LED and lighting technology and of course Digital Signage.
If you are not on our database for the new combined newsletters, just click here to be added.
If you have any suggestions for improvement or possible content for either magazines, then please send an email to brian@wideformatonline.com, we are always keen to hear from the industry.
