The fourth ASGA Awards Event and Presentation Dinner will be held on Tuesday 21 September on board the "Bella Vista" during a dinner cruise 6.30-10.30pm on Sydney Harbour.
The event takes place during this years VIIE show at Darling Harbour.
Entries are now being invited from ASGA members and non members.
Closing date for entries is the 16th July.
An early bird offer is available for ASGA Financial Members if entries are received before Monday 12th April 2010 (5pm).
MEMBERS entries received after 12th April:
- $27.50 (incl. GST) per entry for the first 3 entries
- $10 (incl. GST) per entry for entries 4-10
- No charge for entries 11 and beyond
NON MEMBERS - $77 (incl. GST) per entry for all entries

Terms & Conditions
All entries must be for work produced between 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2010.
Categories for this year's awards are:
1. VINYL – Non-Digital
This award comprises signage predominantly made from “off the shelf” adhesive vinyls and may include signs on walls, vehicles, banners, shopfronts & general signage. This category excludes vehicle wraps (see Category 2 & 3).
2. VEHICLE WRAPS – Full Vehicle
This award recognises and encourages the specific skill required to design and apply signage known as “vehicle body wraps”. Vehicles may include cars, vans, buses, boats, trucks & bikes.
3. VEHICLE SIGNAGE - Combination Wrap & Vinyl Cut Lettering
This award recognises and encourages the specific skill required to design and apply a combination of vehicle wrap and direct lettering to a vehicle. Vehicles may include cars, vans, buses, boats, trucks and bikes.
4. AIRBRUSHING OR HANDPAINTED MURALS
This award includes signage where airbrushing techniques or murals form a substantial part of the completed sign and may include signage on walls, vehicles, banners and general signage.
5. TRADITIONAL SIGNCRAFT SKILLS
This award recognises and acknowledges the traditional hand skills still being practised in our industry today, and may include hand lettering, mask and spray, signwriting, sandblasting, gilding, gluechipping, etc. Signage may comprise vehicles, walls, shopfronts, etc.
6. SCREENPRINTING
This award showcases screenprinting in the sign industry. Any screenprinted item with any number of colours directly printed on any ridged substrate greater than 1.5mm thick.
7. ROTARY ENGRAVING
This award covers any engraved sign or image using a rotary engraving machine. Output would include directories, nameplates, mimic panels, presentations and awards etc on any selected material.
8. LASER ENGRAVING
This award covers any laser produced sign or image using a CO2 laser machine. Output would include directories, nameplates, mimic panels, presentations and awards etc on any selected material.
9. ROUTER OUTPUT
Entries for this award need to be produced on a router and can be any sign, logo, image or output produced (excluding engraving: see Category 8) where a sign, graphic or image is the main subject.
10. CARVING / SCULPTURE
This award includes both hand-carved or machine carved (or sculpted) signage in any material and can be either full 3D or 3D relief, and also includes moulded signage.
11. FABRICATION (1)
This award may include 3D fabricated letters, free standing plinth signs and may include metals, plastics and timber, etc.
12. FABRICATION (2)
This award includes pylon signs and sky signs and may include metals, plastics and timber etc.
13. ILLUMINATION - LEDs
This award covers the design and application of LED technology in our industry scope. Entries must be accompanied by day and night photographs.
14. ILLUMINATION – Neon
This award covers applications of neon glass to illuminate signage or to create special lighting effects and may include signage on walls, advertising signs, shopfronts, skysigns, architectural applications etc. Entries must be accompanied by day and night photographs.
15. ILLUMINATION - non-LED & non-NEON
This award covers applications of illuminated signage that has no LED or Neon involvement and may include signage on walls, advertising signs, shopfronts, skysigns, architectural applications etc. Entries must be accompanied by day and night photographs.
16. DIGITAL PRINT OUTPUT
Entries for this award may include murals, flexfaces, light box faces, banners, posters, etc.
17. ORIGINAL IN-HOUSE DESIGN CONCEPT
This award assesses the fundamental design aspects of a sign where the design concept was developed in-house, irrespective of whether the sign was manufactured in-house or contracted out to a third party.
18. DIRECTIONAL, WAYFINDING & STATUTORY SIGNAGE
This award assesses the overall directional, wayfinding or statutory signage project and may include proprietary or non-proprietary signage systems or products, and signage can comprise any form.
19. SELF-PROMOTION
This award is for promotional work of any type, eg, hoardings, banners, freestanding signs, walls, vehicles, brochures, business cards, etc that are created for the purpose of self-promotion with no budget constraints or commercial value to a client. The category rewards any skill set to promote your business.
20. WORK BY AN APPRENTICE / TRAINEE – 1ST YEAR
An encouragement award for outstanding achievement in the first year of an apprenticeship. Any work undertaken as part of the course is eligible for entry. (Trainee's contribution to be 75% or greater).
21. WORK BY AN APPRENTICE / TRAINEE – 2ND–4TH YEAR
This award is for second, third or fourth year apprentices and any work undertaken as part of the course is eligible for entry. (Trainee's contribution to be 90% or greater).
22. INDUSTRY TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT AWARD
This award recognises the outstanding contribution of an individual, company or institution in furthering the education & training within the sign industry.
(All entries are to be in a written submission so as to fit on the sponsor's mounting board).
