HP is sponsoring the Glebe 150 Locals Photographic Exhibition.
The exhibition that will see the suburb of Glebe transformed into an art exhibition to debut the Grand Tour Gallery, a new outdoor exhibition space that spans the entire suburb.
HP is a key sponsor for the 150 Locals exhibition, and will facilitate the production of all 150 life-size portraits using the latest environmentally friendly printing technologies.
To celebrate the launch 150 life-size photographic portraits showcasing Glebe’s vibrant community will be displayed throughout the suburb from the 24th October to 28th November 2009.
“HP is pleased to support this unique and innovative event. All the photographs will be produced on our HP Designjet range ensuring the final prints represent the high quality production values expected by the photographers,” said Shane Lucas Director HP Graphic Arts South Pacific.
The outdoor displays will be produced on the HP Designjet L65500 latex ink printer enabling the production of high quality signage that is gentle on the environment. The indoor prints will be output on the HP Designjet Z3200 photo printer.
Nearly 110 photographs, taken by Australian photographers North Sullivan and Tom Psomotragos will be exhibited at nearly 60 indoor and outdoor locations. Outdoor photographs will be exhibited on 1600mm x 1000mm canvas sheets. Indoor images will be printed at 1095mm x 1095mm.
Artist Reg Mombassa, honky-tonk piano player Bridie King, and author Peter Corris, of the Cliff Hardy series, are among the 150 Glebe locals that feature in the exhibition.
The Grand Tour Gallery is a new annual initiative of the Glebe Chamber of Commerce to provide a public space for Australian photographers to showcase their photographic artworks. It is anticipated the 150 Locals exhibition will attract 150,000 visitors.
