Makes Photo Quality Affordable for Sign and Poster Printing using Agfa UV Inks and 14 Picoliter Printheads.

Agfa Graphics has announced a new addition to its :Anapurna range of industrial wide-format inkjet systems. The 160 cm (63 inch) wide :Anapurna M industrial wide-format inkjet printer uses state-of-the art 14 picoliter printheads and Agfa-made UV-curable :Anapurna ink to make photo quality UV technology available to graphic screen printing and sign making shops at an affordable investment cost.

:Anapurna M can handle both rigid and flexible media. It is capable of resolutions up to 1440 dpi and printings speeds up to 15 sq. m/hr (161 sq. ft/hr).

“:Anapurna M features a six-colour system, with a light cyan and a light magenta. The high-quality printheads, very small drop size and the quality of our ink sets combine to produce remarkably vivid colours with smooth flats and great image detail,” said Willy Van Dromme, director of wide-format inkjet marketing for Agfa Graphics. “Text remains crisp and sharp in point sizes as little as 4 point.”

:Anapurna M has a maximum media width of 63 inches/160 cm and, like all models in the :Anapurna range, is capable of both roll-to-roll and rigid substrate printing. It is expected to be commercially available in the second quarter of 2007, including one set of two rigid tables for rigid media, start-up quantity of :Anapurna ink, RIP and one-year full warranty.
