GASAA (Graphic Arts Services Association of Australia) are launching the industry’s first independently assessed and monitored carbon footprint rating scheme.

Known as the Green Leaf Carbon Rating, it has been modelled by GASAA on the highly successful 5 star energy efficiency rating system for household appliances.

GASAA are awarding up to 5 green leaves according to the carbon consumption site information provided by the company. Most importantly, you’ll receive a confidential and detailed carbon rating report listing comparative consumption information in areas such as lighting, power and transport.

We will also provide you with practical suggestions of how to reduce emissions and move up the ratings system, plus a single overall unit rating that will position your firm within a green leaf carbon range from 1 to 5.

With our industry scheme across both design and print firms you’ll know precisely where your energy use is at, and how you compare with other like firms. Our rating scheme works for large and small firms, heavy or light production - it all comes down to the amount of carbon your site consumes according to defined industry parameters.

GASAAs’ environmental consultant Paul Kohn, Principal of AKP Leura and ISO 14001 expert, monitors the scheme. The scheme is a part of our comprehensive environmental management program and complements GASAA’s Truly Green and Environmentally Responsible Certification Programs.
