Gandinnovations has introduced the Flat-To-Roll (FTR) which thay say is an exceptional workflow solution with both flatbed and UV roll-to-roll printer capabilities on one machine.

The FTR was designed specifically for the latest addition to the Gandinnovations printer line, the 1224 NanoJet2, and is expected to cut production time down significantly for FTR owners that need a durable hybrid printer. The FTR is a factory installed option which fits onto the front and back of the NanoJet2 and syncs perfectly with the print stepping for reliable flatbed and UVRTR production. Initiating from the flatbed to the roll-to-roll option is accomplished by adjusting the vacuum settings with a couple clicks of the user-friendly GUI.

The FTR effortlessly prints rolled materials up to 8’ wide using reliable beveled hydraulic pinch rollers that keep all flexible materials stable and centered on both the feed and the rewind for seamless roll-to-roll printing. Rigid materials are held firmly in place on the innovative 1.5mtr x 2.4mtr (4’x8’) linear printing table with a strong sectional vacuum throughout the bed. The head carriage system allows for 100% accurate dot placement while printing both flexible and rigid materials.

The FTR is ideal for production printing on most flexible or rigid material, up to 2” thick. Gandinnovations is currently helping their clients by qualifying materials for the entire line of Jeti printers and reporting objective facts at Gandinnovations.com. Over 154 rigid and flexible materials are currently qualified for the FTR.

“We listened to our customers and designed a product to help increase their productivity,” says Cory Brock, Marketing Manager for Gandinnovations. “We came up with a solution that would work well in conjunction with the NanoJet2, rather than just adding a fold out or detachable table. We believe that we fulfilled our customer’s expectations with the FTR.”

The FTR can be added at the time of purchase to the NanoJet2 and is not a retro-fitted option for any other Jeti printers.

FTR with NanoJet2 Technology

The NanoJet2 uses 20 fourth-generation Ricoh Grayscale Piezoelectric print heads that produce the highest resolution images available on any flatbed or UVRTR printer in the industry. These print heads not only produce photo realistic images but will give Gandinnovations’ clients the speed to maintain any size production required. The Ricoh print heads allow for variable dot sizes of 8-24 picoliters that give the NanoJet2 its balance of speed and quality.

The FTR operates smoothly with the NanoJet2 because of the 4 colors (CMYK) and on-demand white printing process. Shops never have to switch out colors and now have a printer that can take care of all size production needs on virtually any substrate.

With the variable dot print heads, the NanoJet2 is able to produce photo-quality images with only the 4 color set. Gandinnovations has also introduced a new UV ink, called GUV, which enhances any image produced on the NanoJet2 with remarkable colors. The new GUV inks give the NanoJet2 the edge to achieve the sharpest and most vibrant images ever produced with complementing beautiful background colors all in the same printing pass.
