Another gong for Roland DG and again for the VersaUV LEC-300 UV inkjet printer/cutter.

This time the Viscom Innovation Award. It was previously announced just a few weeks back that this same product picked up the DPI Award for the Product of the Year and awarded at the SGIA show in Atlanta.

This latest award, the Viscom Innovation Award is in both the digital printing and large format printing category and was awarded at Viscom 2008 in Frankfurt, Germany.

The feature which decided the judges at Viscom was the printer's ability to produce relief applications, such as Braille lettering and textured effects, by building up layers of clear gloss.

Roland have claimed that this printer is the world's first UV inkjet integrated printer/cutter. It has the ability to print in CMYK as well as White on a wider range of substrates du to the fact it uses UV LED lamps that produce only low heat levels.
