Briner Signs, and eighty-year established producers of signage in Victoria, has effectively tripled its capacity for output following the installation of a new swissQprint Kudu UV LED flatbed printer from Pozitive.

SwiisQ logoThe printer, the second of its kind in Victoria and one of only four in Australia, has been operational since mid-October and has already had a measurable impact on Briner’s capacity to produce its broad signge product range.

Notably, Briner’s new printer allows for printing up to 304 square metres per hour, a marked improvement from its previous machine which reached a max of 50 square metres per hour.

It features 10 colour channels, 3.2m x 2m print area, 30 print heads and 1350 dpi maximum resolution. Additionally, Briner now has capacity to create vibrant signage using neon inks, previously unavailable to clients.

Con Tsakonas, Managing Director at Briner, says the new technology won’t see any additional costs passed on to its clients, but rather greater efficiency regarding delivery and installation time.

“We’ve been really impressed already by the output of product we’re now able to achieve for our clients, which is an enormous benefit,” says Tsakonas, who purchased the machine in at the drupa expo, Germany, in June of this year.

“Our clients are predominantly in real estate, from high-end to master planned estates, so the requirement to fulfill their needs varies quite a bit, we’re able to well and truly stick to schedule and increase our capacity at the same time, that’s where the value is for us and our clients.” SwissQprint Kudu energy efficiencyThe swissQprint Kudu is highly energy efficient

Briner’s new printer will also fast track the launch and distribution of an entirely new product offering set to provide a solution for ‘one and done’ signage.

Tsakonas adds: “We’re just about to launch a new product, a 600mm by 450mm A-frame which was designed to allow for foam board inserts eliminating the ‘stripping’ process and removing double handling. The client will be able to change the message on the A-frame without needing to return it to Briner and can have multiple designs for a single A-frame.

“The new printer is going to allow us to produce these inserts at incredibly high volumes, so we’re excited to see how that’s received by the real estate industry in particular.”
