It's good to see one of Australia's largest print chains promoting on mainstream TV media. Snap Print is currently sponsoring Channel 7's 'Sunrise' morning show traffic reports in Sydney, with live feeds from Monique Bovino in the Ch7 Helicopter.

Print franchise group Snap Print Solutions is currently sponsoring the live traffic feeds from high above Sydney on Channel 7. It's great to see print being promoded this way.

Snap is one of the oldest printers in Australia, with roots going back 125 years - to 1899!  Caxton Print, Perth, was started in 1899 and bought by former gold prospector Stan Watt Snr. in 1903, renaming it Imperial Printing. Former gold prospector. Both Stan Snr. and his son Stan Jnr. served with distiction in WW1 and WW2 respectively.SNAP NorthbridgeSNAP Northbridge, Sydney

In 1966, Stan Watt Jnr. found out about 'instant printing,' while in the USA and started the Snap chain with the slogan on billboards up and down St George's Terrace, Hay and Wellington Streets: 'Only rabbits can reproduce faster!' Stan appointed an employee, Paddy Thompson, to grow the business and Snap soon had 38 stores, all company-owned. The premise was to move B&W document printing close to where businesses were, using the Itek fast platemaker and Itek duplicator-presses.

From 1979 on, franchising was introduced to further grow the network and was so successful, by 1990 the commercial print business Imperial was sold off. Then followed global expansion, with  Snap Franchising building further on its services with Master Franchises in Ireland, China and New Zealand.

Of course, 1990 onwards saw the revolution in digital output, full colour and wide format posters and signage. Today's Snap covers all these areas and more through around 132 outlets plus online design and ordering. Stickers and labels are also included in its comprehensive range  and even customised T-shirts and uniforms.

So well done Snap - you're not only promoting your brand but Print in general. Dare we say you are going it 'flying high!'
