In what can only be seen as a positive signal that face-to-face trade shows are returning, Mimaki Europe will have a physical presence at Luxe Pack, Monaco from September 27-29, almost the same time that Australia was supposed to be hosting PacPrint, now deferred to June 2022. Hopefully, we will follow Europe's lead.

Mimaki Europe will celebrate luxury packaging at LUXE PACK (Grimaldi Forum, Monaco: 27-29 September). Mimaki will use its first face-to-face event, since the pandemic started, to highlight the value and power of print embellishment. A diverse range of eye-catching applications – including 360-degree-printed packaging and 3D-printed packaging mocks-up – will be on display.  The company will inspire visitors to Luxe Pack with a wealth of samples of high-end packaging for cosmetics, perfumery, and other luxury industries, while at the same time showcasing new, exciting opportunities in 3D printing. Demonstrating the benefits of this technology for the luxury industry, Mimaki will explain the outstanding creative opportunities enabled by the company’s cutting-edge, full-colour, UV-curable 3D printing solutions, including the presentation of packaging samples printed with the 3DUJ-553.

A further technology highlight on the Mimaki stand will be the UJF-6042 MkII direct-to-shape UV printer. Offering easy-to-use on-demand printing, this leading-edge flatbed printer enables UV printing on a diverse range of materials and substrates in differing sizes, including plastic, glass, wood and metal. At Luxe Pack 2021, the printer will feature Mimaki’s LUS-120 flexible UV ink – available in six colours (CMYK Lc Lm) plus white, clear and inkjet primer – ensuring supreme print quality across a wide colour gamut, extremely good weather resistance and stretch ability up to 170%. Adding to this, the UJF-6042 MkII is capable of 360-degree direct printing on cylindrical products using Mimaki’s 'Kebab' option. This combination is designed to help users further expand the opportunities of decoration-printing and embellishment of luxury packaging in industries such as cosmetics, perfumery, fashion, wines and spirits, watchmaking and jewellery.

“We are thrilled to participate in an event in person and to be able to meet our partners, customers and all the industry players. The impact of the many inspiring applications on show can only really be experienced when you hold the packaging in your hands and we are looking forward to seeing visitors reactions to these latest concepts and samples. We also urge visitors to see first-hand how the use of Mimaki’s inkjet technologies and 3D print solutions can enable them to take advantage of limitless creative opportunities to make the most innovative ideas a reality,” says Martial Granet, Branch Manager, Mimaki France and Maghreb.

Mimaki is also participating in the event conference programme. Martial Granet will explore the topic of sustainability in packaging and how the use of advanced UV print technologies and full-colour 3D print solutions can improve environmental performances and promote creativity. The speech is entitled: “Mimaki technologies in favour of the environment and assisting creativity”

“As the market recovers and consumer confidence increases, Mimaki is focused on providing the market with its expertise and full range of cutting-edge technologies designed to make luxury packaging even more impactful and environmentally-conscious. Championing limitless creative possibilities for high-impact premium packaging and driving innovation in this thriving industry will be our goal at Luxe Pack 2021 and beyond,” Granet concludes.
