Wrapping applications, whether on a vehicle, storefront window or interior wall, continue to be some of the fastest growing areas of opportunity in the sign, graphics and visual communication industry, according to a new white paper from the US-based International Sign Association (ISA) and researcher KeyPoint Intelligence. Reaching Today’s Customers: A Guide for Wrap Shops, sponsored by Avery Dennison and Roland DGA, is free to download until June 18.

“Although many wide format applications have matured, wrap volumes are still growing – recent research shows that roughly a third of those surveyed indicate vehicle graphics/wraps are one of their top wide format printing applications,” says the ISA.

“On the other hand, wall wraps (coverings) and floor graphics are only 15% and 10% respectively, thus leaving a tremendous amount of opportunity for capitalization in these applications. Additionally, it should be noted that in a post-COVID19 climate, due to social distancing standards, floor graphics are likely to be front and centre as truly valuable advertising mediums."

The white paper examines trends in the pre-COVID19 wrap market while providing insight into real-world examples that can be applied in any economic climate.

“Wrap shops and adjacent businesses that are considering expanding into vehicle and other forms of wrapping can use this white paper to learn about current trends, common pitfalls, barriers to entry, and future areas of opportunity," the ISA says.

“In addition to offering a brief overview about the history of wraps as a media for advertising and the most common applications, this white paper explores the current state of the market and may act as a valuable sales tool in onboarding new clients or expanding current product offerings with existing clients.”
