The terrible effects of the Covid-19 pandemic are beginning to be felt in New Zealand as lockdown and isolation laws reduce sign businesses to emergency-only signage and work-from-home designs.

In more stable times - D&D Signs, Whangarei Northland New Zealand

D&D Signs, formerly Dudley & Dennis Signs, is a well know sign business covering the north of the North Island of New Zealand. Director Jared Dennis issued this statement to customers and stakeholders:

"Things have changed so quickly. As per the (NZ) government’s announcement yesterday, D&D Signs are now closed. We will still be able to receive emails and complete artwork from home, so if you have any signage ideas in your lockdown time, email them through and we can start putting something together.

We can still make signs for Essential Services customers. We have put our shop into full lockdown as of 5pm Monday 23rd March. All staff are locked out apart from Jared, who will still be able to come in if needed, while maintaining full self-isolation protocols. This means that for our Essential Services clients who remain open, if you need COVID-19 specific Health & Safety or Emergency signage we will still be able to provide this."

As goverments both state and federal tighten the isolation regulations, we may be seeing more of this affecting our industry, where only emergency and Covid-19 related signage is produced and shipped, avoiding all proximity to the courier and customer.
