Shann DPM, a division of The Shann Group, has 15,000sqm of warehouse space around Australia and New Zealand, employs over 100 people and has a joint venture in a manufacturing plant in Vietnam.

“We are looking forward to partnering the Shann DPM group and introducing Drytac’s wide range of unique products such as SpotOn, ReTac and ViziPrint to the Australian market,” says Steve Broad, European and Asian sales director, Drytac.

“Shann DPM will also have access to the fantastic Polar range and to Drytac’s selection of matching laminating films, which offer high UV protection with inhibitors in the film and adhesives. These are ideally suited to the protection of print media and inks in the diverse range of climates across Australia.”

Shann, an established Australian company with over 60 years’ experience serving trade customers across a range of industries, will distribute Drytac products from its offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane.

“We’re excited to see the work achieved by our new customers in Australia following the appointment of Shann,” says Amanda Brown, global marketing manager for Drytac. “The combination of Drytac’s extensive range of professional media and the amazing levels of creativity demonstrated across the country are sure to result in some stunning applications.”

Shann Australia has its origins in the 1950’s with the late Frank O’Shannassy selling sewing threads from the family home. His staff consisted of his wife Barbara and their nine children. Through the years there were mergers with a zipper company and then an American corporation, with the O’Shannassy’s retaining their shares in these ventures. Over this period, the company kept expanding its product range and the trades to which it sold. In 1987, the O’Shannassy family and some key executives purchased the company, making it 100% Australian owned.

UK-based Drytac recently released a series of videos giving an insight into the company’s manufacturing facilities in the UK and North America.

The Drytac Academy in Bristol provides training for display graphics professionals.
