The Australian Sign and Graphics Association (ASGA) is taking its awards and industry gala dinner out of Sydney next year, with the event to be held during Visual Impact Gold Coast 2020 at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach.
“For the first time, we shall be taking the event out of Sydney and holding it at the Gold Coast,” ASGA general manager Michael Punch told members in a newsletter. “It will be during the Visual Impact EXPO at the Exhibition Centre on Friday 1st May 2020 - LOCK IT IN!!! Entries will be for work competed since July 2018 - March 2020.”
In another first, next year’s ASGA awards will also be judged online. “Check amongst your files and pics for all the great work your staff has created or installed as the public viewing is a reward for their craftsmanship and professionalism,” Punch said. “FESPA Australia will again be part of this industry Awards event so plan now a family weekend break at the Gold Coast.”
The newsletter included a report on the recent ASGA Queensland golf event, where Mulford Plastics finished ahead of 17 rival teams at the Brookwater Golf Club.
“Once again the event which is so popular brought together industry sign makers, suppliers and many other friends and clients at this fun event last Friday week,” said Punch. “There was a mix of a few low handicappers but the majority stepped out for their annual game playing off 27! Mulford Plastics wrestled back the team trophy from the Clegg Media team. Novelty hole prizes were spread amongst a host of players.”
