Alfred Shaheen was credited as being the pioneer who made the modern Hawaiian shirt so popular today.
He did at age 82 on December 22nd from complications with his diabetes.
Shaheen opened Shaheen's of Honolulu and began designing and printing aloha shirts, dresses and other ready-to-wear clothing that included the now distinctive Hawiian look.
Shaheen originals can cost more than a $1,000.
