A Preview of the upcoming VI Sydney show.
Prepared and written for Wide Format Online by Colleen Bate
The Sydney Showground has reached capacity for the coming Visual Impact expo and industry suppliers are putting the final touches to their plans for the September show which is geared up to be one of the most comprehensive and diverse yet seen.
Doors to the visual graphics industry’s popular expo will open on Wednesday, 12 September in Halls 5 & 6 of the vast Sydney Showground complex at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush Bay. Visual Impact Sydney will run on 12 September (10am – 8pm), 13 September (10am - 6pm) and 14 September (10am till 4pm).
Thousands of industry professionals are expected to visit the show to see a comprehensive range of the very latest technology, services, materials and media for signage and display, digital and wide-format printing, engraving and routing, vinyl applications, design, airbrushing and screen printing, and to benefit from business networking, education and professional development opportunities.
This not-to-be-missed expo combines innovation and information to help businesses improve their performance, increase competitiveness, create new revenue streams and plan for their future success.
Peter Harper, General Manager – Trade Shows & Publications for show organisers Visual Connections, expects the Sydney show to be one of the best ever. The organisers are hoping that the expanded focus and several new initiatives will extend the reach and relevance of the show, and increase its value to visitors.
As in previous years, exhibitors at the Sydney Show will include those from the industry’s largest and most comprehensive names, to smaller specialist and niche suppliers.
This year, however, there will be a significant focus on the latest innovations in screen printing, alongside more familiar offerings like wide-format, design and MIS, POP, display and expo systems, laser cutting and engraving, and structural and illuminated signage technologies.
Peter confirms that, although this is something of a departure from recent shows, textile printing is clearly a very relevant area for those in the print, sign and display sector. "It makes perfect sense to expand our reach into this area," he says.
A program of seminars, workshops and breakfast information sessions will run alongside the expo, giving enormous value to the show experience.
For ease of access to the Sydney Showgrounds, visitors can climb aboard the morning and afternoon shuttle bus between Homebush and Darling Harbour, with extended hours on the Wednesday evening until 8pm.
Registrations for the show are open, and visitors are encouraged to pre-register to avoid the queues and enjoy more time at the show.
